$40 2/9 Core Hooping Fundamentals ~ The Infinite Sphere
Many hoopers of all skill levels would like to broaden their range of technique and expression within the hoop. This 3-hour workshop is designed to facilitate just that, whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned, professional hoopdancer. We will focus exclusively on core hooping—dancing with the hoop as it rotates around the body’s core (waist, shoulders, hips, legs, neck, and/or head).

$40 2/10 at 1:30-4:30 Technique as Meditation
In this 3-hour workshop, designed for hoopdancers with 50 or more hours of “flight time” (time spent interacting with the hoop), we will open lines of inquiry around the ways that technique can serve us in the practice of movement meditation.

BIO: Ann Humphreys began her dance with the hoop in North Carolina in 2006, under the tutelage of master hoop teacher Jonathan Baxter of the HoopPath. Four years later, she began a solo hoop journey which evolved into her own curriculum, Line&Circle, a conceptual interpretation of hoopdance grounded in concrete terms and images. The thrilling emergence of hoopdance as an art form has gifted Ann with the opportunity to use her creative spark, capacious vocabulary, big voice, yoga background, and love of teaching all in the same effort–and, even more importantly, to make the transformative power of meditative movement accessible to women and men.
